Wisdom James 1:5-8

James 1 NASB 5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. King Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived. Why? Because He asked God for wisdom to rule God's people according to God's will. He didn't ask for wisdom for his benefit but for the benefit of God's people. When we pray for wisdom we need to pray as king Solomon did, not for our benefit, but for the benefit of those impacted by our decisions. We need to pray for God's will to be done through our actions. Along with that we need to accept God's will. We can't ask God for wisdom and then reject the answer. That's what verse 5 is about. If we pray for wisdom in decision-making and don't follow God's will we are guilty of being double minded. So pray for wisdom and when we receive an answer, do it, even if we don't like the answer. And remember, God has our best interest at heart. We can trust His will in our lives. Blessings, Cecilia
