2 Corinthians 8 Are you earnest and do you go on your own accord?

16But thanks be to God who puts the same earnestness on your behalf in the heart of Titus.17For he not only accepted our appeal, but being himself very earnest, he has gone to you of his own accord. 18We have sent along with him the brother whose fame in the things of the gospel has spread through all the churches;19and not only this, but he has also been appointed by the churches to travel with us in this gracious work, which is being administered by us for the glory of the Lord Himself, and to show our readiness,20taking precaution so that no one will discredit us in our administration of this generous gift;

So who is the brother referred to in verse 18?
the brother. This is generally supposed to have been Said. Luke, 'whose praise was in all the churches,' on account of the gospel which he had written, and for many zealous services in its cause.

Are you yourself regarded as very earnest for Jesus? Do you go on your own accord?
I must be honest, tho I am earnest, I usually don't go on my own accord. I need prodding of which I give credit to my spouse. If it weren't for her I'd still be wallowing in my sin!

Have you been appointed a position in the church, or a ministry?
Whatever position it is do it for the glory of the Lord Himself, because you wouldn't want to discredit the gracious gift you have been entrusted with.

Blessings, David
