Do You Have A House Or A Home? Psalm 23:6b

6b And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

A house is defined as "a building for human habitation, especially one that is lived in by a family or small group of people." Synonyms for house are: abode, domicile, shelter, home, residence, roof over ones head, homestead, habitation or lodging place.

The house of the Lord could be defined as "a building in which people meet for public Christian worship". Synonyms are church, abby, cathedral, sanctuary or chapel.

I've always thought of a house as a structure and a home as a structure filled with love.

To me, the house of the Lord is so much more then a structure. It's my physical body where God's Holy Spirit resides. It's Heaven where God resides. It's my eternal resting place where I will someday go and dwell  with Jesus.

To me, the house of the Lord is a home filled with love, a sanctuary, a shelter. It's a feeling of safety, protection during the storm and a place for rest. It's tranquillity even during turmoil.

That feeling can only be attained through a intimate personal relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Jesus is the narrow gate. The only way to heaven is through Him.

Blessings, Cecilia
