The Blame Game. Genesis 3:8-13 NLT

If Eve was the first to eat the fruit of the tree, why is Adam blamed for the fall of man? Because Eve was tricked into sinning and Adam knew exactly what he was doing. He followed Eve into sin. When Eve ate, Adam knew she was forever separated from God by her sin. If Eve was separated from God, she would also be separated from him. He loved Eve and wanted to be with her. Adam willingly sinned to be with Eve and willingly separated himself from God.

God had given the command to Adam. It was his responsibility to relay the command to Eve. Apparently, Adam had neglected to accurately convey God's command to Eve. Maybe if Adam had explained it with the proper warning......but we will never know.

With it all said and done, they all had responsibility. Satan knew what he was doing, twisting the Word of God, deceiving, making sin look good when in reality it never is. Adam was responsible for miscommunication and willfully following Eve into sin. And Eve, she took the first bite. She let temptation get the best of her.

Satan still does this today. He deceives, he manipulates, he twists and distorts. He clouds our vision and makes sin look good. Then, when it's over he leaves us alone to pick up the pieces of conviction and shame.

Satan's only goal it to separate us from God. Today, don't let Satan win.

Genesis 3:8-13 NLT

8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man  and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the LORD God among the trees.  9 Then the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”

10 He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”

11 “Who told you that you were naked?” the LORD God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?”

12 The man replied, “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.”

13 Then the LORD God asked the woman, “What have you done?”

“The serpent deceived me,” she replied. “That’s why I ate it".
