Seasoned with salt!

I have heard it said that a person speaks about 15,000 words a day on
average. It seems as though, the language that many of the older generation
would have had their mouth's washed out with soap for, are being used in
general conversation. The behavior of a spoiled brat is now common place in
our society. To hear a professed Christian praise God one minute and drop
the "F" bomb the next, bothers me. The Apostle Paul wrote about what to
stay away from and how to conduct ourselves as the body of Christ. *Col 3:8
But now rid yourselves [completely] of all these things: anger, rage,
malice, slander, and obscene (abusive, filthy, vulgar) language from your
mouth.* Brethren, may we evaluate our own behavior before the Lord and
desire to live a life that is Holy. Paul stated how we are to live before
unbelievers, *Col 4:5 Conduct yourself with wisdom in your interactions
with outsiders (non-believers), make the most of each opportunity [treating
it as something precious]. 6 Let your speech at all times be gracious and
pleasant, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer each one
[who questions you].* Other people are watching to see if Jesus really did
make a change in our lives, may we show them the reflection of our Savior
in and through what we say and do. Charles Spurgeon wrote, " If He gives
you the grace to make you believe, He will give you the grace to live a
holy life afterward".
