Do you recognize His voice?

"The fire alarm has been activated, please evacuate the building." These
words come repeatedly blaring from a local school sometimes at night. No
smoke, no fire department that we could see, but it got the attention of
the neighborhood. Many believers want to hear from God in that kind of way,
clear, loud, and to the point. For Elijah, he was looking to hear from God
and it ended up being "a still small voice". *1Kings19:11 Then He said, “Go
out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord
passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke
the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and
after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12
and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and
after the fire a still small voice.* It is not as important on how God
speaks to us, as it will be different for many, but what we do when we
hear. The more that we are in His word, the more we be able to recognize
His voice, the more we will likely do what He has ask. The choice we have
is whether or not there is a desire for complete obedience to God in our
hearts. For we must remember that *1Sam15:22...“Has the Lord as great
delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the
Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of
rams.*
