1 Peter 4- What's Your Excuse?

1 Peter 4
Berean Study Bible
Living for God's Glory
1Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves with the same resolve, because anyone who has suffered in his body is done with sin. 2Consequently, he does not live out his remaining time on earth for human passions, but for the will of God.

If we have not physically suffered for following Jesus Christ, we can still connect ourselves by faith to Jesus, who has suffered for us in the flesh. “I beg you to remember that there is no getting quit of sin – there is no escaping from its power – except by contact and union with the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Spurgeon)

"but for the will of God."
"If's, and's, and but's we're honey and nuts we'd have Christmas every day". I once heard a politician says this phrase about excuses.

Are you living for the "will of God"?
Or are you giving excuses, "If's, and's, and but's"?

As Spurgeon said you need "contact and union with the Lord Jesus Christ". Once you have that then living for His will will follow.

So what's "your" excuse?

Blessings, David
