Joy In The Little Things. Genesis 1:26-28 NLT

My recliner has a great view out the window of my living room. Yesterday evening I watched a young bunny hopping around my front yard eating grass. It was the first rabbit I had seen near my home since moving here two year's ago. I was excited to see it and felt joy watching it until it disappeared into the ferns at the edge of the driveway.

“The study of human origins seems to be a field in which each discovery raises the debate to a more sophisticated level of uncertainty.”
(Christopher Stringer of the Natural Museum of London)

I've been doing a lot of reading on the Book of Genesis, trying to learn as much as I can about this first book of the Bible.

Sometimes we can over do it. In our quest for understanding, we can over analyze, over think, over look the simplicity of the text. "If the first sense makes sense, don't look for any other sense."

The trinity of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, was there "In the beginning" before anything was and created all we know and see. They, God, created man to govern over the earth and all that He had created the previous days. Man has dominion over all things.

Man was created separate from the animals. Although there are some similarities between man and some types of animals, man is separate and unique from all other creatures on the earth. Man was created in the image of God. We are the only species to have a sense of a Creator, a Higher Power, God, Abba, Father.

What's the first thing God does once he creates man? Blesses him. And He's still blessing us today.

Thank you, God, for blessing us with your creation and blessing me with the opportunity to enjoy it every day.

Genesis 1:26-28 NLT

26 Then God said, “Let Us make human beings in Our image, to be like Us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

27 So God created human beings in His own image.

In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.

28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

Blessings, Cecilia
