If the Lord wills.

"May the Lord's will be done" are difficult words to say at different times
in our lives. There are many times that we see "Red Flags" and still
continue on to get what "we" want. Whether it is in ministry, a job, a
relationship, or different parts of everyday life in general. I know that I
have looked to have my will be done, my desires to be fulfilled, thinking
that it will happen. The scriptures say in *James 4:13 Come now, you who
say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year
there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what
will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that
appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to
say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”* Sometimes the
hardest thing to do is to surrender to God's will, do what needs to be done
to please Him, and understand that His will is so much better than ours. We
do not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future in His
hands. Our lives are a vapor that will vanish away. May we live lives in
complete surrender and say boldly, " If the Lord wills" and be OK with it.
