Listen and Trust. Matthew 26:1-5

I wonder what the disciples thought when Jesus told them He was about to be crucified. Had they learned to trust Jesus yet? Did they really listen to Him? Or did they quickly push it out of their minds.

Meanwhile, all the men with religious authority are secretly meeting and plotting to destroy Jesus. Their dislike for Him had deep roots.

"They didn’t want to put Jesus to death during Passover, but that is exactly how it happened. This is another subtle indication that Jesus was in control of events, as they in fact killed Him on the very day that they didn’t want to." David Guzik

Psalm 31:13 NKJV

For I am the slander of many; fear is on every side; while they take counsel together against me, they scheme to take away my life.

Matthew 26:1-5

The Plot to Kill Jesus

1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, He said to his disciples, 2 “As you know, Passover begins in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

3 At that same time the leading priests and elders were meeting at the residence of Caiaphas, the high priest, 4 plotting how to capture Jesus secretly and kill Him. 5 “But not during the Passover celebration,” they agreed, “or the people may riot.”

Have you learned to trust Jesus yet? Do you listen to Him? I know I need to brush up my faith in this area, what about you?

Blessings, Cecilia
