Please come and help us!

 As the Lord Jesus was preparing to go to heaven, He encouraged the
brethren with these words, *John 16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is to
your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper
(Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will
not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to
be in close fellowship with you].* These words were a promise, not only to
the first century church, but to today's believers as well. Holy Spirit,
please come and help us, all of God's children. Fill us to overflowing with
Your power. Give us boldness beyond measure to share the love of Jesus with
all the people around us. Help us to listen to Your direction, that still
small voice, and be obedient even when we are unsure of what You are
calling us to do. Take away any and all fear of failure that the enemy has
placed in our thoughts. Help us with anxiety, doubt and the sin that so
easily ensnares us. Demonstrate in us Your power to have words of wisdom
and knowledge, healings and miracles, prophecy, tongues and interpretation.
Give us the fruit of Your Spirit from love to self control. Help us to
truly understand that Jesus did not pay the price that He did for us to
enter into a religion, but into a relationship with Him as the Lord of our
lives. Please help us to encounter, experience and glorify Jesus in all
that we say and do. In His precious and powerful name, amen.
