James 5- Have you been greedy?

James 5
Berean Study Bible
Warning to the Rich
1Come now, you who are rich, weep and wail for the misery to come upon you. 2Your riches have rotted and moths have eaten your clothes. 3Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and consume your flesh like fire.
You have hoarded treasure in the last days.

“Better weep here, where there are wiping handkerchiefs in the hand of Christ, than to have your eyes whipped out in hell. Better howl with men than yell with devils.” (Trapp)

I recall we tried to purchase a plot of land to build a house and a couple days before closing the listing agent disclosed an issue with the well. We didn't close and the bank immediately sold it to another party. The bank attempted to keep our earnest money by threatening the title company if they returned the funds to us.
I filed a complaint with the federal government at
https://www.helpwithmybank.gov/index.html
The money was immediately refunded to us.
I also believe it was God closing the door on the purchase and our dream.
How could this bank have been so greedy?
Greed is a sin and a tool of the devil.

Have you been greedy?
Do you tithe to your church?
Do you give to the poor, widows or orphans?

Blessings, David
