I wanted to share a couple of things I learned this past week.
First, the belt of truth. Do you know the first article of clothing a Roman soldier put on to go into battle was his belt? That seems odd. You would think that would be the last step in getting dressed. It is for me! But you see, this wide, heavy, article of clothing, worn tightly around the midsection, gave core support to the wearer. It helped to stabilize them in the battle ahead. It gave them balance and strength. Much like the word of God for us. It's our core support. It stabilizes us, gives us balance and strength.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.
Second, and I had never heard it put this way, Adam stood by and let Eve sin. He could have stopped her, saved her from this monumental fall, but instead, he stood by and did nothing to save her! What kind of a man does that!?! I thought he loved Eve, yet he followed her lead instead of stopping her " death".
No wonder Jesus had to come along and mop up the mess! Thank You God for loving us more then Adam did!

Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.
