3By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: 6Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
Many people claim to be Christian but their actions are louder than their words. When we lived and drove in a big city it was hard not to curse at other drivers. When I became "born again " I had to break this habit of sinning. One day asked my pastor if he cursed in his mind (silently) at other drivers when driving around town. He replied; all the time! I've now graduated to the word idiot, but it's still not how Jesus would respond. We all have to work on keeping His word so the love of God can be perfected in us. We must make an effort to walk as Jesus walked.
