2 Peter 3- What is your urgency?

The Day of the Lord
(Zephaniah 1:7-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11)
8Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

“All things are equally near and present to his view; the distance of a thousand years before the occurrence of an event, is no more to him than would be the interval of a day. With God, indeed, there is neither past, present, nor future. He takes for his name the ‘I AM.’ . . . He is the I AM; I AM in the present; I AM in the past and I AM in the future. Just as we say of God that he is everywhere, so we may say of him that he is always; he is everywhere in space; he is everywhere in time.” (Spurgeon)

“As God is not willing that any should perish, and as he is willing that all should come to repentance, consequently he has never devised nor decreed the damnation of any man, nor has he rendered it impossible for any soul to be saved.” (Clarke)

We live in time and time is short which is why we have an urgency about things.
But as Spurgeon says, God does not. He is patient!
Notice what Clarke states; "nor has he rendered it impossible for any soul to be saved.”

Our urgency should be coming to the cross and for other unsaved souls.
When we wonder why Jesus hasn't returned yet.... it's because (He) not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

What is your urgency?

Blessings, David
