Ephesians 5 Guard your heart!

3But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Paul says you are a saint, so act like one!
You can no longer be immoral, impure, filthy, silly talk, course jesting, which are not fitting.

But rather (instead) giving of thanks. That is be thankful for everything God gives you. A roof over your head, the food in your belly, the clothes on your back.

Then Paul gives this warning:
"For this you know with certainty,"
that (no) immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
No means no!

May we examine ourselves today and live our life as Jesus would want us to live without all the things that God detests.

I recall while working, fellow workers would start gossiping or telling crude jokes. As a Christian you have a choice to make. Listen or walk away. I would walk away.

If you listen, you are not guarding your heart.
Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Blessings, David
