Check mate. Luke 17:1-4

Luke 17:1-4
Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”

If someone sinned against us seven times in one day and repented, we could forgive them in word but would we forgive in truth?
Would our heart really embrace them with true forgiveness? I don't think so. I think we would be guarded after that, unable to trust that person again.
Yet Jesus forgives us. We sin against Him multiple times every day and He wholeheartedly forgives us each and every time. And aren't you glad He does?
Oh, wait, you don't sin against Jesus multiple times a day? Really? Do you have negative thoughts about people you pass in public? Do you criticize the way other people drive? Do you think the cashier at the store is an idiot? Do you use angry words or tone of voice on your spouse or children? Do you loose your temper? Cuss?
Check mate.
Blessings, Cecilia
