Be still, listen to Gods still small voice!

1Kings19:11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the
Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore
into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the
Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord
was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord
was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

"The fire alarm has been activated, please evacuate the building." These
words came blaring from a local school late last night. No smoke, no fire
department that we could see, but it got the attention of the neighborhood.
When we want to hear from God, that is the kind of response many would like
to hear. Clear, loud, to the point direction from the Lord. For Elijah, he
was looking to hear from God in a big way and it ended up being "a still
small voice". It is not as important on how God speaks to us, as it will be
different for many, but what we do when we hear. The more that we are in
His word, the more we will recognize His voice, the more we will likely do
what He has asked. The choice is whether or not there is a desire for
obedience to God in our hearts.
