I can think of several relationships I have chosen to dissolve in my life. I tried to get along with the person and it was no longer worth the stress or effort the relationship involved. Sometimes it's easy to do, you distance yourself, limiting your availability. Maybe you stop returning phone calls or text messages.
Here, Jesus refers to the Pharisees and those who don't believe in Him as the "blind". He states their fate and tells the disciples to ignore them. Jesus was fed up with the Pharisees. They were leading the people astray. Jesus had tried to correct them but their hearts were so hard, they wouldn't listen. He was done trying.
Does that mean Jesus had given up on them? I don't think so and here's why. There is always time for repentance, right up until we take our last breath. We may be surprised when we get to Heaven who is there. Maybe even some of the Pharisees will be, or all.
Jesus hasn't given up on you either. You can ask Him right now, wherever you are, to forgive your hard heart, open your eyes and teach you His ways. He's just waiting for an invitation.
Matthew 15:12:14 NLT
12 Then the disciples came to Him and asked, “Do you realize you offended the Pharisees by what you just said?”
13 Jesus replied, “Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be uprooted, 14 so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.”
Blessings, Cecilia
