Jude 1-Who are you judging?

8Yet in the same way, these dreamers defile their bodies, reject authority, and slander glorious beings. 9But even the archangel Michael, when he disputed with the devil over the body of Moses, did not presume to bring a slanderous judgment against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

Today, our culture encourages us to reject authority and to recognize self as the only real authority in our lives. We can do this with the Bible, by choosing to only believe certain passages. We can do it with our beliefs, by choosing at the “salad bar” of religion. Or we can do it with our lifestyle, by making our own rules and not recognizing the proper authorities God has established. (Guzik)

Significantly, Michael dared not bring against him a reviling accusation. Michael did not mock or accuse the devil. God hasn’t called us to judge the devil, to condemn the devil, to mock him or accuse him, but to battle against him in the name of the Lord. (Guzik)

In the movie “The Shack” the father of a kidnapped and murdered daughter is angry with God and judges his daughters murderer. God allows the father to sit on His throne to judge his own children.

When we judge someone by their actions or looks we are sitting on the throne of God!

Who are you judging?

Blessings, David
