Leviticus 11:13-19 Detestable!

13Additionally, you are to detest the following birds, and they must not be eaten because they are detestable:

the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture,

14the kite, any kind of falcon,

15any kind of raven,

16the ostrich, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,

17the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

18the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,

19the stork, any kind of heron,

the hoopoe, and the bat.

Some of these birds ðŸ¦… are birds of prey but some are also scavengers that eat detestable carcasses of dead animals. Father knows best!

Years ago there was a joke circulating, about a man that killed a spotted owl and was standing before a judge because it was on the endangered species list. The judge asked him why he had killed it and he replied that he was starving, so the judge dismissed the case. As he was exiting the courtroom the judge asked, what did it taste like? He said it tasted like the bald eagle. ðŸ˜‚

The Lord is setting up boundaries for His children to keep them healthy and holy. It’s not much different than our parents setting up boundaries when we were growing up.

Did you obey your parents or did you stretch the boundaries that were given to you?

Blessings, David
