Bloody Right. Genesis 9:1-4 NLT

Someone once told me they don't go to church at Easter because they find talk about "all that blood Christ shed" disturbing, disgusting and uncalled for. Really?

This came from a grown man. Sounded like an excuse to me.

The word blood is used over 400 times in over 350 verses in the Bible. Below are some examples of the importance of blood.

In Exodus, blood was a sign of God's protection at the first Passover. ( Exodus 12:13)  At the last supper, Jesus used the wine to represent His blood and sealed the new covenant of the remission of sins. ( Matthew 26:28) We become justified by Jesus's blood. ( Romans 5:9) Through Jesus's blood we have redemption. ( Ephesians 1:7) Jesus's blood cleanses us from all sin.  1 John 1:7) Because of Jesus's blood, we have access to the Most Holy Place. ( Hebrews 10:19) And we have conquered Satan because of Jesus's blood.  ( Revelation 12:11)

To me, the blood of Jesus is a beautiful thing.

Genesis 9:1-4 NLT

1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth.  2 All the animals of the earth, all the birds of the sky, all the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the fish in the sea will look on you with fear and terror. I have placed them in your power.  3 I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables.  4 But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.

Blessings, Cecilia
