Society places too much emphasis on beauty. We spend millions of dollars on hair color and creams to try to look younger. We nip, tuck, suck and stretch ourselves to try to beat the aging process.
My opinion, when we are obsessed with changing our outward appearance, the real problem is in our heart.
I saw this unfold with a woman I worked with years ago. Gastric bypass had just hit the market. She was overweight, but not enough to qualify for the surgery. She gained more weight so she could have it done. Once that was done, and she had lost the weight, she had the surgery to remove the excess skin. She then moved on to a face lift and breast implants. She had an affair and divorced her husband. All while claiming to be a good Catholic. She didn't have an appearance problem, she had a heart problem.
I heard a prayer request the other day. I don't know all the details and we don't need them, God knows who she is. This young woman asked for prayer for God to transform her into a beautiful woman. She named a couple of celebrities she thought were beautiful as examples. My heart hurts for this young lady. She doesn't understand her true worth, that God made her just the way she is for His pleasure and her beauty comes from within. Please pray for her to learn her true worth.

Genesis 12:14-16 NLT
14 And sure enough, when Abram arrived in Egypt, everyone noticed Sarai’s beauty. 15 When the palace officials saw her, they sang her praises to Pharaoh, their king, and Sarai was taken into his palace. 16 Then Pharaoh gave Abram many gifts because of her—sheep, goats, cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.
