And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Luke
2:10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you
good news of great joy which will be for all the people. 11 For this day in
the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the
Lord (the Messiah).
Merry Christmas, these words have a different meaning for me since becoming
a Christian. When I was a child, I knew it was a special day, we had a
tree, gifts were given, went to church all dressed up. I was taught, it was
about Jesus, and yet there was still something missing, something I didn't
understand, the reason behind it all. Fulfilled prophecy and the truth of
God's word. Isaiah spoke as to the future and Luke documented it in the
present. I have seen a lot of different controversy about Christmas.
Things, that I believe are a distraction from the purpose of this day. When
was Jesus actually born? Why have a tree? Why the gifts? You know that
Christmas is from a pagan holiday? And so many others. Setting a day apart
to celebrate the birth of Jesus has the significance of bringing His name
out into the world for all to hear. There is power in the name of Jesus!
The greatest gift to mankind was foretold and fulfilled. Brethren, may we
truly celebrate today what Christmas is all about, Happy Birthday Jesus!
Thank You for everything!
