The sins of Sodom and Gomorrah. Jude 1:7

 What is greed? It’s more then a desire for money. People can be greedy for attention, possessions, compliments, gifts or status among other things. 

Greed always describes a selfish motivation. 


Greed is a disease of the heart affecting all areas of a person’s life 

Google defines greed as an “intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power or food.” 


Vocabulary.com calls greed ugly and insatiable. 


Greed is self-centered and never satisfied.


Greed causes unrest. Proverbs 28:25 “Greed causes fighting; trusting the LORD leads to prosperity.”


Greed rob us of a good life. Proverbs 1:19 “Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life.”


Greed leads to death. Ephesians 5:5 “You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.” 


Pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth. The 7 deadly sins. The sins of Sodom and Gomorrah. 


Jude 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
