5Then Jacob departed from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel took their father Jacob in the wagons Pharaoh had sent to carry him, along with their children and wives. 6They also took their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt. 7He took with him to Egypt his sons and grandsons, and his daughters and granddaughters—all his offspring.
In our previous study we saw God call out to Jacob and say;
“Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt”.
In these verses we see Jacob stepping out in faith, the faith of the Promise God made to Abraham but also his faith in the Lord.
So Jacob gathers up everyone and everything and steps out in faith and moves to Egypt. This is an important reason for his blessings from God, He was obedient and stepped out in faith.
