Matthew 5:11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12Rejoice and celebrate, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.
Rejoice and celebrate? How can this be? This isn’t how we naturally react! We desire to defend ourselves, to tell the truth, to smite them in our prayers like David!
But Jesus says, “blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.”
Let Jesus be your defender. Great is your reward.
