Job 1:1, 5 Job’s example!

Job 1:1 There once was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. And this man was blameless and upright, fearing God and shunning evil.
5And when the days of feasting were over, Job would send for his children to purify them, rising early in the morning to offer burnt offerings for all of them. For Job thought, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.

Would we have heard about Job if Satan didn’t try to make him curse God? Take note of the wording, “blameless and upright, fearing God and shunning evil.”
God was confident in His servant.

And look at Job’s regular practice for his children. Jesus fulfilled the law so we no longer are required to perform burnt offerings for sin.
But do you pray for your children everyday because “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.”?

Let’s try to follow Job’s example and be “blameless and upright, fearing God and shunning evil”! And make a regular practice of praying for your children.

Blessings, David
