Wasted Time and Energy. Genesis 33:1-4 NLT

Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but you dont get anywhere. All the time and energy Jacob invested in worry over his brothers reception of him was wasted time and energy.

We see a change in Jacob from the previous days on this journey. Before Jacob wrestled with God, he had divided his household and sent them ahead of himself. Now he leads the pack. But the order behind him is interesting. Rachel and Joseph are in the back where they are most protected in case if attack. The servant wives and children are up front. Leah and her children are sandwiched between. Once again, Leah is reminded she is not the preferred wife.

Genesis 33:1-4 NLT

1 Then Jacob looked up and saw Esau coming with his 400 men. So he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and his two servant wives.2 He put the servant wives and their children at the front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph last. 3 Then Jacob went on ahead. As he approached his brother, he bowed to the ground seven times before him. 4 Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept.
