10For,
“Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11He must turn away from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and His ears are inclined to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”a
13Who will harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
Any of you that have raised children, how did you react when you caught them lying to you?
Were your ears inclined to their speech? Or did you take things with a grain of salt?
When our son started down this path, I couldn't believe anything he said.
Brethren, we are Gods children!
He would react no different than you would towards your children with lying lips and deceitful speech!
This scripture also comes with a warning so take heed; "But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil".
Don't be deceitful, don't lie. It would be better to keep your lips closed than to have God your Father turn His face against you.
Instead strive to be righteous.
Wouldn't it be better to have His ear inclined to your prayers?
Blessings, David
