John 6
Jesus Walks on Water
16 That evening Jesus’ disciples went down to the shore to wait for Him. 17 But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. 18 Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough. 19 They had rowed three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, 20 but he called out to them, “Don’t be afraid. I am here!” 21Then they were eager to let Him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination!
The disciples grew impatient waiting for Jesus. They had a plan, needed to get going and left Jesus behind.
When we try to do things on our own, we can end up in stormy situations. Some times it's tough to wait on the Lord but if we remind ourselves God's timing is perfect, we can be patient a little longer.
Even though the disciples left Jesus behind, He was there when they needed Him. Have you left Jesus behind? Are you in a storm? He will be there for you too if you only ask Him.
Dear Jesus, for all those who are in a storm today I ask you to go to them and get them to the destination you have for them. We pray this in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen.
Blessings, Cecilia
