Numbers 35:22-25 Judgement

22But if anyone pushes a person suddenly, without hostility, or throws an object at him unintentionally, 23or without looking drops a heavy stone that kills him, but he was not an enemy and did not intend to harm him, 24then the congregation must judge between the slayer and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances. 25The assembly is to protect the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

Judgement

Judgement from the congregation had to be made when both sides of the incident were taken into account. Was there intent, was it accidental?

“Significantly, someone who killed another - but was innocent of murder - still had their life profoundly affected. They had to move from their city, and presumably their family as well, and had to live the rest of their lives in that city of refuge. The tragedy also affected their life.” (Guzik)

“Until the time of the high priest’s death, if the man who sought protection in the city of refuge wandered outside the walls of the city, he was fair game for the avenger of blood - only within his place of refuge was he safe.” (Guzik)

One day, everyone will stand in judgement for their sinful life on earth and it won’t be a congregation judging you!

I plan on have Jesus Christ represent me, who will represent you?

Blessings
