Genesis 10:1-5 Knack

The Japhethites
1This is the account of Noah’s sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, who also had sons after the flood.
2The sons of Japheth:
Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
3The sons of Gomer:
Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
4And the sons of Javan:
Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.a 5From these, the maritime peoples separated into their territories, according to their languages, by clans within their nations.

Isn’t it interesting that every time you read the Bible you always glean something new?
Noah’s son Japheth, his descendants were known as the Japhethites and were “the maritime peoples”.

From an early age God knitted into my heart to become a person who liked to fix things. I had a knack for mechanical assembly and repair. Apparently at the age of five I had asked for a gas station for Christmas. It came with an elevator and parking on the roof. I loved playing with it.

In these verses we see the Japhethites were the maritime peoples. I find it interesting that after Japheth spent a year in the ark floating around the world his descendants were maritime peoples. God knitted it into their hearts. They had a knack for the sea.
Maritime definition, connected with the sea in relation to navigation, shipping, etc.

What do you have a knack for?

Blessings, David
