I'm going to pick on "Bob" here. Only because, for some reason, I know a lot of "Bob's". I'm not thinking of any "Bob" in particular, just using the name "Bob".
Bob died (sad) and went to Heaven (rejoice!). Immediately, he finds himself face to face with Jesus (AWESOME!). And he falls on his face at Jesus's feet (as we all will). "Come on Bob, let me show you something" Jesus says. They start walking, Jesus pointing out various sights. Soon they come to a large warehouse with no windows on one locked entry door. Jesus unlocks it and they walk inside. Bob is in awe. Filling every space from floor to ceiling are beautifully wrapped presents in various sizes. Some can be held in the palm of Bob's hand, others would need a forklift to move. The sight us dazzling, better then any imaginable Christmas morning. It seems it would take a lifetime to unwrap them all.
"Come on Bob, let's go." says Jesus, they step back out the door and Jesus locks it again. "What was that? " Bob asks, still in disbelief. "That, my dear child" Jesus explains, "were all the blessings I wanted to give you if you had only listened and asked."
With that, Jesus put His arm around Bob's shoulder and they walk on.
Now insert your name in Bob's place.
Genesis 35:9-15 NLT
9 Now that Jacob had returned from Paddan-aram, God appeared to him again at Bethel. God blessed him, 10 saying, “Your name is Jacob, but you will not be called Jacob any longer. From now on your name will be Israel. "So God renamed him Israel.
11 Then God said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Be fruitful and multiply. You will become a great nation, even many nations. Kings will be among your descendants! 12 And I will give you the land I once gave to Abraham and Isaac. Yes, I will give it to you and your descendants after you." 13 Then God went up from the place where he had spoken to Jacob.
14 Jacob set up a stone pillar to mark the place where God had spoken to him. Then he poured wine over it as an offering to God and anointed the pillar with olive oil. 15 And Jacob named the place Bethel (which means “house of God”), because God had spoken to him there.
