freedom, all the blessings that comes with it and the lives sacrificed to
keep it, may we remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ upon the
cross. This was not only for our country, but for the entire world. It says
in *John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide
in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you free.” 34 ...“Most assuredly, I say to you,
whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the
house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you
free, you shall be free indeed.* If the believer abides in God's word, it
will show that we are Jesus' disciples. Slavery or freedom, it is a choice.
Brethren, we have the greatest freedom ever, by knowing the truth in the
Lord Jesus. As we watch the fireworks, have cook outs and go swimming, may
we reflect on the cross and what it really means to be free from the power
of sin, and what it means to be a child of God. May God richly bless you my
beloved.
