The Bible

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. How do you read the Word of
God? One word at a time. There are many different reasons as to why people
do not read the Bible. For some, they think it takes to long. In reality,
it takes approximately 72 hours to read the Bible, from front to back, out
loud, with and average reading speed. There are many that make time to read
the daily news, the sports page, the latest tabloid of the rich and famous,
and different books on hobbies, and neglect the Bible and its importance.
It says in *Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and full
of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper
than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul
and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow
[the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts
and intentions of the heart.* I read, "The Bible is the only book that when
you read it, the author is always there with you." Brethren, may we get
into the Word so that the Word can get into us, and then we will see our
lives and the lives of those around us change for eternity.
