9Even though we speak like this, beloved, we are convinced of better things in your case—of things that accompany salvation. 10God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.
11We want each of you to show the same diligence to the very end, so that your hope may be fully assured. 12Then you will not be sluggish, but will imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
Here we see the consequences for falling away. Will you be a blessing or a curse! Bear fruit or be burned up?
Nevertheless the writer of Hebrews continues with encouragement; "He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints"!
When I was volunteering as a chaplain at the Arizona State Veterans Home I would get discouraged because of my physical ability, because of my physical disability. Being on my feet all day walking from room to room was unbearable and by day's end I felt like I was crawling to my car. But I would pray, Lord help me through the day.
In His name I ministered to the saints.
In return for my diligence He blessed me! The saints would be waiting for me in the lobby, in the hall, in the dining area or outside their room!
Through faith and patience (I will) inherit what has been promised.
I encourage you to continue bearing fruit, your rewards will be greater than you can imagine.
For more encouragement, study Gods promises in the bible. Here is a good start.
