Numbers 28:16-25 Passover, Feast and Sin Offering

16The fourteenth day of the first month is the LORD’s Passover. 17On the fifteenth day of this month, there shall be a feast; for seven days unleavened bread is to be eaten.

18On the first day there is to be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work. 19Present to the LORD an offering made by fire, a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old, all unblemished. 20The grain offering shall consist of fine flour mixed with oil; offer three-tenths of an ephah with each bull, two-tenths of an ephah with the ram, 21and a tenth of an ephah with each of the seven lambs. 22Include one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for you.

23You are to present these in addition to the regular morning burnt offering. 24Offer the same food each day for seven days as an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. It is to be offered with its drink offering and the regular burnt offering.

25On the seventh day you shall hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.

“In addition to the lamb each household was to offer to God, the priests were also required to bring these offerings to God at the time of Passover on behalf of the entire nation.” (Guzik)

In a nutshell, you either have to follow all of the OT Laws with the sacrifices, sin offerings and atonement or accept the Lamb of God for your sin offering and atonement. The OT sacrifices for atonement only covered sin, but Jesus’s sacrifice for atonement removes sin.

John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

How do you make atonement?
