1When the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked Israel and captured some prisoners. 2So Israel made a vow to the LORD: “If You will deliver this people into our hands, we will devote their cities to destruction.a”
Defeated
Remember the bad report from the ten spies?
Numbers 14: 40Early the next morning they got up and went up toward the ridge of the hill country. “We have indeed sinned,” they said, “but we will go to the place the LORD has promised.”
45Then the Amalekites and Canaanites who lived in that part of the hill country came down, attacked them, and routed them all the way to Hormah.
Victory!
Numbers 21: 3And the LORD heard Israel’s plea and delivered up the Canaanites. Israel devoted them and their cities to destruction; so they named the place Hormah.
Defeated
We are defeated too!
Romans 3: 10As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one.
23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Victory!
Romans 8: 37Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. AMP
You have to accept that you are defeated before you can have victory through Jesus!
Blessings
