Revelation 16 NLT
16 And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. And a mighty shout came from the throne in the Temple, saying, “It is finished!” 18 Then the thunder crashed and rolled, and lightning flashed. And a great earthquake struck—the worst since people were placed on the earth. 19 The great city of Babylon split into three sections, and the cities of many nations fell into heaps of rubble. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and He made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath. 20 And every island disappeared, and all the mountains were leveled. 21There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy-five pounds fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.
It is finished. Three words we have heard before. Jesus spoke these three words right before He died on the cross. On the cross those three words signified Jesus had fulfilled His purpose. He had done what He was sent to do. He had brought down the barrier between God and man, He had become the sacrificial Lamb for our sins.
Now God speaks them. "It is finished". He is done putting up with the shenanigans of man. He is finishing off the evil in the world. They will drink the cup of His wrath. He has had enough. His patience has warn out.
God, who created everything and can do anything has had enough. I'm glad I'm not going to be on the receiving end of His wrath. You don't have to be either. If we acknowledge Jesus as Lord and live this life for Him, we will be accepted by the Father and not endure His wrath. We need to pray for those who refuse to accept Him. Pray for those who continue to reject Him. Pray for those who are being stubborn. Pray for those who do not understand.
Blessings, Cecilia
