Revelation 14 NLT
The Harvest of the Earth
14 Then I saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like the Son of Man. He had a gold crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. 15 Then another angel came from the Temple and shouted to the one sitting on the cloud, “Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come; the crop on earth is ripe.” 16 So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the whole earth was harvested. 17 After that, another angel came from the Temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18 Then another angel, who had power to destroy with fire, came from the altar. He shouted to the angel with the sharp sickle, “Swing your sickle now to gather the clusters of grapes from the vines of the earth, for they are ripe for judgment.” 19 So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and loaded the grapes into the great winepress of God’s wrath. 20 The grapes were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse’s bridle.
Judgement. It's all about God's judgement. God is the only one with the wisdom to judge us.
Psalm 9:7 "But the LORD reigns forever, executing judgment from His throne. 8 He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness."
Do you think you could execute judgement fairly? I'm not talking about our court system. That's the judgement set up by man. I'm talking about deciding who enters heaven and who doesn't. As your judging who gets in and who doesn't, remember since God is perfect, heaven must be perfect and we can't defile heaven with imperfect people. With that standard set who could get in? Yet God wants us all to get in.
We judge each other every day. We judge people when they dress different then us. We judge people by the way they drive. We judge people by how their house looks or the way their kids behave. It's hard not to, but we do.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:1 "Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. 2 For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged." That should be enough to stop us from judging yet it's human nature. So what do we do about it?
Here's one suggestion. When you catch yourself judging someone, stop and pray for them. Prayer takes our focus off the negative and turns it around to the positive. If we can't find a way to pray for them, ask the Lord to forgive you and to open your eyes to other ways you judge people so you can stop.
So how can we get into heaven if we are imperfect?
1 Peter 1:19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
Because of the blood of Christ. Christ was perfect. He led a perfect life. He paid the penalty for OUR sins. He was the lamb without blemish that was the final sacrifice for sin. His blood cleanses us of our unrighteousness so we can become perfect and spend eternity with God.
Blessings, Cecilia
