Revelation 15
The Seven Bowls of the Seven Plagues
5 Then I looked and saw that the Temple in heaven, God’s Tabernacle, was thrown wide open. 6 The seven angels who were holding the seven plagues came out of the Temple. They were clothed in spotless white linen with gold sashes across their chests. 7 Then one of the four living beings handed each of the seven angels a gold bowl filled with the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever. 8 The Temple was filled with smoke from God’s glory and power. No one could enter the Temple until the seven angels had completed pouring out the seven plagues.
Back in chapter 14 the earth was harvested. Decision time was past, you were either in or out. “Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come; the crop on earth is ripe.” Now In verse 8, we see the Temple filled with smoke from God's glory and power. It goes on to tell us no one could enter the Temple until the seven plagues are completed.
Those left would face God's full wrath. The description used is a winepress. Don't picture a bunch of happy women dancing around in a vat of grapes, picture the grapes being crushed beyond recognition, pulverized, squeezed and drained, their life juices flowing away.
God was no longer approachable. No new relationships could be formed. That's a scary thought. If you can't turn to God in a time of trouble, where can you turn? At this point, nowhere.
Yet, that's the reality if you die before accepting Christ. We hear of bedside conversions and maybe there is that moment before you die that Jesus gives you a last chance to accept Him but why take that chance?
When I enter Heaven I want Jesus to introduce me to God as a good and faithful servant. I don't want to squeeze in wiping the sweat off my brow.
Blessings, Cecilia
