Judges 18:3-6 Sinning

”While they were at the house of Micah, they recognized the voice of the young Levite. They turned aside and said to him, “Who brought you here? What are you doing in this place? What do you have here?”“ ‭‭Judges‬ ‭18‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“They recognized the voice of the young Levite: It may be that the spies from the tribe of Dan knew the renegade Levite personally. It is also possible that they simply recognized his accent as being from the southern part of Judea.” (Guzik)

”He said to them, “Thus and so Micah did for me. He has hired me, and I have become his priest.”“ ‭‭Judges‬ ‭18‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

”So they said to him, “Please inquire of God, that we may know whether the journey on which we go will be prosperous.”“ Judges‬ ‭18‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This shows what a spiritually confused time this was in Israel. These Danites on a sinful mission met with a sinful Levite and wanted to know from a righteous God if their mission would be successful. Then the sinful Levite sent the sinning men on their way with God’s blessing.” (Guzik)

”And the priest said to them, “Go in peace. The presence of the Lord be with you on your way.”“ ‭‭Judges‬ ‭18‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I am struck by this statement: “Then the sinful Levite sent the sinning men on their way with God’s blessing.”

What lesson should a Christian learn from the sinful Levite and the sinning men?

Blessings
