15God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD,the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.
16Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me and said: I have surely attended to you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. 17And I have promised to bring you up out of your affliction in Egypt, into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.’
Say to the Israelites..... has sent me to you.’ Forty years ago they rejected Moses. Will they reject him this time? No! Because God sent him, last time Moses tried to do it on his own and he wasn’t ready (mature enough).
“The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob”.
“This is My name forever,”
His name is to be remembered as the Lord with the Promise.
What’s in your name?
My parents named me after King David, the problem with that is, how do I live up to his accomplishments? But as I studied the Bible I understood he was just a man like me with faults and sin. I pray that I have a heart for God.
The Lord through Moses reminds the Israelites that He is going to keep His Promise. He will give them a land flowing with milk and honey.
“God’s description of the Promised Land as “a land flowing with milk and honey” is a beautifully graphic way of highlighting the agricultural richness of the land.”
What would a land flowing with milk and honey be to you?
Blessings, David
