23After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned and cried out under their burden of slavery, and their cry for deliverance from bondage ascended to God.
“Misery finally found a voice.” (Kaiser)
24So God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 25God saw the Israelites and took notice.
Did God forget His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
No, He turned His attention towards them!
God is all seeing, all knowing and He doesn’t forget.
From studying the Bible I’ve noticed there are times when we (man) forget about God, we stop talking (praying), we stop thanking (blessings) Him, we stop asking (advice) Him, we turn our attention (consciousness) away from Him and He turns from us. He lets us wallow in life without Him.
Could this be the same with the Israelites? I believe so!
Some may say but they were slaves! Wasn’t Joseph a slave and a prisoner?
Genesis 39: “While Joseph was there in the prison, 21the LORD was with him and extended kindness to him. He granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden,”
Has your misery found a voice?
Lift it up to God!
Blessings, David
