One of my favorite sayings is "Sin's sin no matter the size." Solomon talks of an immoral woman in the following verses but you could replace adultery with any sin and the same outcome applies.
Sin is smooth talking, enticing , seducing. You dabble a little and you don't get caught. Before you know it, you crave it, yearn for it, lust after it. You invest more time, energy and money in the sin because you falsely believe it brings you enjoyment. In the end, it costs you everything. Your faith is shaken, your family gone, you loose your job, maybe even your life.
You played with fire and got burned.
So stop sinning, drop to your knees and repent. Jesus will forgive you, He will take you back.
Psalm 6:24-29 NLT
24 It will keep you from the immoral woman,
from the smooth tongue of a promiscuous woman.
25 Don’t lust for her beauty.
Don’t let her coy glances seduce you.
26 For a prostitute will bring you to poverty,
but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life.
27 Can a man scoop a flame into his lap
and not have his clothes catch on fire?
28 Can he walk on hot coals
and not blister his feet?
29 So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife.
He who embraces her will not go unpunished.
