Job1:21...“Naked (without possessions) I came [into this world] from my
mother’s womb, And naked I will return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has
taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.” 2:10 But he said to her, “You
speak as one of the [spiritually] foolish women speaks [ignorant and
oblivious to God’s will]. Shall we indeed accept [only] good from God and
not [also] accept adversity *and* disaster?”...
Thanksgiving is a matter of the heart. There are many on this day that will
feel lost and abandoned. Some have broken hearts, broken families, and
broken lives. To be thankful in times of adversity is not easy. Job, seemed
like he had everything he ever needed for physical well being. He had a
large family that he loved, wealth, and prosperity. In one moment of time,
almost all was gone. God's will for our lives, sometimes is not what we may
have expected. We can look at Job as an example of what it is like to
praise God for what He has given and what He has taken away. There are many
that may never experience the severe loss that breaks you. Then there are
some that know it all to well. Friends, I want you to know that Jesus loves
you no matter where you are at and what you are going through, and I love
you too.
