Mission Trip!

MISSION TRIP. Prayers would be greatly appreciated for traveling mercy and
safety. There is a team from Calvary Chapel Tucson going to Puerto Penasco,
Mexico, (Rocky Point) to build a house for a family in need. The Rodriguez
Herrera family consist of the father who is a cook and supports his family
of 5 on $47 a week. Calvary Tucson has had this mission on their hearts for
17 years. We have built over 60 homes, a church, a clinic, a kitchen, a
classroom, and plenty of "Banos". When we go, we take food for a
neighborhood cookout on Saturday. We take clothes for those in need. We
give water to drink, all in the name of Jesus. We take the words of the
Lord Jesus to heart and try to live purposefully. *Matthew 25:35 for I was
hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a
stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick
and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ 37 “Then the
righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and
feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger
and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick,
or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to
them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least
of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’* More important than any of these
works, we take the gospel and present it as it is written in *Mark 16:15
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all
creation.* This mission trip starts in our hearts and carries throughout
lives in all that we do, even into eternity. God bless you my friends from
around the world. Jesus loves you and I love you too!

2 Peter 3- Our Lord’s patience brings salvation

Final Exhortations
14Therefore, beloved, as you anticipate these things, make every effort to be found at peace with Him, without spot or blemish.
15Consider also that our Lord’s patience brings salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom God gave him. 16He writes this way in all his letters,c speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort,d as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.
17Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard not to be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing. 18But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.
Amen.e

"our Lord’s patience brings salvation". I believe this is the reason Jesus hasn't returned (2nd coming) yet. He wants every possible soul to repent, come to Him and receive the eternal gift of salvation.

While we wait I encourage you to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"!

"ignorant and unstable people distort,d as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction."
Luke 9:60 But Jesus told him, "Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God."
I encourage you to talk to others about His grace and His gift of salvation!

Sin City. Genesis 13:5-13 NLT

"For we walk by faith, not by sight" 2 Corinthians 5-7

Lot looked around and chose the easy life. He thought he could live near sin and not be effected by it. How wrong he was.

We take a little step, nothing happened, it must be okay. We take another step. We walk around it, eyeing it, checking it out and checking ourselves. No damage done, it must be okay. We get a little closer. No harm. It must not be that bad. We get a little closer, then a little more. We stop again to look around. How did we get here? We didn't see it coming, we thought we were safe. What happened?

In a blink of an eye, our life is gone. Our friends, our job, our home, our family. Sin is like that. It looks okay, maybe even attractive, enticing, harmless. Once Satan takes it all, all that's left is God. Will He still take you back? Even after all you've done? Absolutely! In a heart beat, all you have to do is ask.

Genesis 13:5-13 NLT

5 Lot, who was traveling with Abram, had also become very wealthy with flocks of sheep and goats, herds of cattle, and many tents.  6 But the land could not support both Abram and Lot with all their flocks and herds living so close together.  7 So disputes broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot. (At that time Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land.)

8 Finally Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives!  9 The whole countryside is open to you. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want the land to the left, then I’ll take the land on the right. If you prefer the land on the right, then I’ll go to the left.”

10 Lot took a long look at the fertile plains of the Jordan Valley in the direction of Zoar. The whole area was well watered everywhere, like the garden of the LORD or the beautiful land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)  11 Lot chose for himself the whole Jordan Valley to the east of them. He went there with his flocks and servants and parted company with his uncle Abram.  12 So Abram settled in the land of Canaan, and Lot moved his tents to a place near Sodom and settled among the cities of the plain.  13 But the people of this area were extremely wicked and constantly sinned against the LORD.

Put His holy word in my heart!

There are many things that people associate with that are not bad, but can
become a distraction from what God has called us to be and to do. I have
seen many get caught up in jobs, family, hobbies, country, politics,
relationships, etc. and forget Whom they are to love and serve first. It is
written in *Deut13:4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and you shall
fear [and worship] Him [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect],
and you shall keep His commandments and you shall listen to His voice, and
you shall serve Him, and cling to Him.* Remembering God, Jesus, Holy Spirit
in everyday life seems to be an afterthought for many and some days even
for me. I am reminded regularly what is written in * Mark12:30 and you
shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul
(life), and with all your mind (thought, understanding), and with all your
strength.* I try to live with the purpose of letting my world know that
Jesus is not a part of my life, He is my life. I am alive today because
what God did in my life and because of that, I want everyone to know Him. I
pledge allegiance to God, and pray that God helps me put His Holy Word in
my heart. I ask that Holy Spirit will make it a lamp unto my feet and a
light unto my path and that I will hide the Bibles words in my heart that I
might not sin against God. In Jesus precious and powerful name, amen.

2 Peter 3- Do you?

11Since everything will be dissolved in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness 12as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be dissolved by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. 13But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

Life is hard, survival is a struggle and everyday the work list seems to get longer. Winter is coming and I am scurrying like a chipmunk to get the "list" downsized before the snow hits. And after the snow hits I will spend most my time stoking the wood stove, plowing snow, snow blowing snow and shoveling snow.
But I have to remind myself that it's all going to get burned up anyway!

In the meantime we try to conduct ourselves in holiness and godliness.

I look forward to Gods promise, a new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells!

I "anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God".

Do you?

Are you ready?

There are many parts of my life that may glorify God, and I confess that
there are some that do not. For many, the life they lead in the public eye
is completely different than the one that they lead in the privacy of their
own home or even in their own mind. Jesus is coming back and no one knows
the day or the hour except God. *Matt24:36 “But of that [exact] day and
hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son [in His
humanity], but the Father alone. 37 For the coming of the Son of Man (the
Messiah) will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before
the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
until the [very] day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not know or
understand until the flood came and swept them all away; so will the coming
of the Son of Man be [unexpected judgment].* If Jesus comes back today, how
would you react? In the days of Noah, people were just living for the day,
not expecting what was about to happen to them. Brethren, we must be ready,
waiting with anticipation for Jesus to come and get His church. If there is
anything in our lives that we know is displeasing to Him, we must stop. I
do not know about you, but I do not want to be ashamed with anything in my
life when Jesus comes to get me. We need to remember Whom we serve and live
like it!

Beautiful You. Genesis 12:14-16 NLT

Society places too much emphasis on beauty. We spend millions of dollars on hair color and creams to try to look younger. We nip, tuck, suck and stretch ourselves to try to beat the aging process.

My opinion, when we are obsessed with changing our outward appearance, the real problem is in our heart.

I saw this unfold with a woman I worked with years ago. Gastric bypass had just hit the market. She was overweight, but not enough to qualify for the surgery. She gained more weight so she could have it done. Once that was done, and she had lost the weight, she had the surgery to remove the excess skin. She then moved on to a face lift and breast implants. She had an affair and divorced her husband. All while claiming to be a good Catholic. She didn't have an appearance problem, she had a heart problem.

I heard a prayer request the other day. I don't know all the details and we don't need them, God knows who she is. This young woman asked for prayer for God to transform her into a beautiful woman. She named a couple of celebrities she thought were beautiful as examples. My heart hurts for this young lady. She doesn't understand her true worth, that God made her just the way she is for His pleasure and her beauty comes from within. Please pray for her to learn her true worth.

Genesis 12:14-16 NLT

14 And sure enough, when Abram arrived in Egypt, everyone noticed Sarai’s beauty. 15 When the palace officials saw her, they sang her praises to Pharaoh, their king, and Sarai was taken into his palace. 16 Then Pharaoh gave Abram many gifts because of her—sheep, goats, cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.
