1 Samuel 2:11 Young People

”Then Elkanah went to his house at Ramah. But the child ministered to the Lord before Eli the priest.“ ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

a. Then Elkanah went: They did it. It was hard to do, to leave this little son behind, but they did it because they promised God they would do it.

b. But the child ministered to LORD before Eli the priest: Young as he was, Samuel had a ministry to the LORD. Our young people can praise and please God and it is often a breakthrough in their walk with the Lord when they experience God in worship.

i. The Living Bible translates it well: And the child became the Lord’s helper. There are ways that even children can serve God and minister to Him.

Every year our church organizes spring break for the youth at St. George Christian Retreat Center in Florida. Students are asked to do 30 hours of volunteer service, learn the books of Bible, and memorize key scripture in order to attend.  Many of them during this experience give their lives to Jesus and some will go on to minister to the Lord in many different ways, in youth group services, music worship, food truck and serving in the church community.

This trip is “often a breakthrough in their walk with the Lord when they experience God in worship.”

Yesterday evening while rehearsing a music video with lyrics in the chapel “I Surrender” Live version by Hillsong for the Life Recovery Bible Group it attracted several of the youth and it was joyful to see them excited with the worship music video.

Are you helping plant seed in the hearts of the youth?

”But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

”Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.“ ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
