Deuteronomy 13:4-5 Put to Death

4You are to follow the LORD your God and fear Him. Keep His commandments and listen to His voice; serve Him and hold fast to Him.

5Such a prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he has advocated rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way in which the LORD your God has commanded you to walk. So you must purge the evil from among you.

Put to Death

“Ancient Israel was a unique situation, where the civil government was also directly appointed by God and charged with maintaining spiritual order as well as civil order. Therefore, such heresy and deception were capital crimes - punishable by execution.” (Guzik)

“For many centuries, when the church held political power, it often exercised this penalty also. Heretics were often given over to the civil government for execution.” (Guzik)

Trapp writes in the mid seventeenth century, “This power is still in the Christian magistrate, to inflict capital punishment on gross heretics.”

1 Thessalonians 2:15 NLT For some of the Jews killed the prophets, and some even killed the Lord Jesus. Now they have persecuted us, too. They fail to please God and work against all humanity

Ever study the crusades, we’re they doing the Lords work?

History has revealed to us that some who believe they are the most righteous and godly persecute and kill godly people when in fact they are doing the devils work.

Have you murdered anyone in your heart lately?

Blessings
